Michael Horten
Michael Horten brings decades of experience as a corporate
partner with King & Spalding to the boutique law firm he founded after retirement. Horten CC employs
a non-traditional practice model that is based on two key philosophical underpinnings: First, the firm
delivers big firm experience without the “marble and mahogany” clad environment typically associated with a superior
legal firm. Horten CC has no central offices, no paper files and it uses the latest technology to create
efficiencies. As a result, the firm’s fees are considerably lower than those charged by firms of
comparable ability and quality. Second, the firm bills its clients for the value delivered and not for
the time spent by the attorney. Unlike scores of lawyers, the firm does
not maintain time sheets that track time in 6-minute increments. Instead, the firm provides its services
on a fixed-fee basis.
